Watson & Watson although a small legal firm compared with the mega firms or even middle tier firms are committed to the provision of best work practices, best environmental practices, best governance in compliance with laws together with the dedication of providing excellent legal services on a cost effective basis


Work Place

1. Watson & Watson are committed to providing a safe and healthy work place and free of injury for all employees, volunteers, clients and suppliers.

5. Watson & Watson are committed to the provision of relevant training, learning and development opportunities for employees.  Watson & Watson encourages all staff to take up additional opportunities for improvement e.g. by way of courses and other education.

6. Watson & Watson comply with all relevant local and international laws and regulations with regard to employment practices, benefits, health and safety and anti-discrimination. 

7. Watson & Watson provide fair pay and working conditions, including adequate rest and parental rest periods, parental leave and complies with all local laws and matches prevailing working conditions.

8. Watson & Watson does not use child, forced or involuntary labour in any form.

9. Watson & Watson comply with all relevant local and national laws and regulations with regard to occupational health and safety and the provision of health related benefits to employees and has a written safety and health policies and standards.

10. Watson & Watson encourage all staff to contribute to the review and implementation of our policies.  Watson & Watson have a staff manual and executive committee rights and responsibility code together with a written Grievance Management and Resolution Policy with a senior solicitor appointed as the Grievance Officer.

11. Watson & Watson are firmly committed to providing the best services available.

12. There has been no injury and no workers compensation claim since Watson & Watson’s inception.  This is as a result of Watson & Watson’s experience over 25 years, all staff’s dedication to best practice relating to safety at work and being responsible in assisting each other and themselves so as to minimise any risk of injury.

13. Watson & Watson conducts itself in accordance with the highest ethical standards in the best interest of our clients.  All staff are conscious of the high responsibilities placed on legal practitioners and associates to act at the highest ethical standard and we are committed to such standard which includes the highest degree of confidentiality and compliance with the privacy policy and confidentiality requirements entrusted to each staff member.


Environmental

14. Watson & Watson and all staff recognise that we have an impact on the environment in carrying out our day to day business.  It is Watson & Watson’s commitment to be involved in the best environmental practices and to move towards carbon neutrality.  We have engaged the Carbon Reduction Institute to assist this process.  Further details are available on our Sustainability Policy and Procedures page.


Information Technology

15. Watson & Watson have IT support during and outside of business hours providing efficient and professional services and have a back up for the protection of information.


Risk Management

16. Watson & Watson have a commitment to reducing risks against any adverse occurrences; adverse to the staff, the clients , the business and the environment and it is for this reason that Watson & Watson have put in place risk management policies and procedures.

17. As part of Watson & Watson’s risk management Watson & Watson has in place documents setting out procedures to enable a safe workplace. 

18. Watson & Watson have a written and tested Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to evacuate the building in the event it is necessary so as to minimise harm to all employees, community and local environment.

19. Watson & Watson have engaged the services of the Chairmont Group who have had extensive experience in risk management to assist in the documentation of our risk management including operational risks which includes identifying the risk, analysing the risk, evaluating the risk, commitment of the risk, and continual monitoring and review together with consultation.

20. Watson & Watson has a written Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) which sets in place a process to protect the integrity of the business in the event of a disaster whether minor or major (such as destruction of our office).  Documented processes are in place for early reaction to any such disaster.  Watson & Watson endeavour to put in place systems and procedures to ensure there is no such disaster, however, as a protection these additional risk management processes are in place.
